About The Culinary Institute of New Zealand Founded in 2001 the Culinary Institute of New Zealand specializes in professional chef and associated hospitality training. We are a small school with a maximum of 40 full time students per year (3 courses of 12). This allows us to offer very personalized training where all students receive individual attention from tutors. Based in Kerikeri in New Zealand’s stunning Bay of Islands, the Culinary Institute is surrounded by some of the most beautiful and historic places in the NZ. Only 3 hours drive north of Auckland, or a 45min plane trip, the area provides a safe, clean and friendly environment for students. Our core philosophies are ‘modern food styles’ and training that simulates real kitchens.
